For the third time in a row!
Triumph and a three-peat in Caorle. Here is how the race unfolded:
Hungarian Zalan Hobor was first out of the water and, after a quick transition, first onto the bike. On the first of three laps, Euan moved to the front and significantly increased the pace. Alongside the Italian teammates, the French athletes also applied pressure. About a dozen athletes reached the second transition together, led by Italy’s Espuna Larramona, but Hobor was fastest in T2 and quickly began the run. In the end, however, Euan once again took victory in Caorle, his third. “Caorle has become special to me: today I won for the third time in a row. Perhaps it is the course, which suits my strengths, or perhaps the support of the Italian crowd.
“Caorle brings me luck”

I performed well from the start, both in the swim and the fast T1 transition. On the bike, both we Italians and the French tried to set the pace. A small lead group of about a dozen athletes formed. I was slightly behind at the start of the run but managed to catch up. When one of the two French athletes attacked, I stayed with him, and again on the second attack. Then I sprinted in the last 100 metres.”
